Our Approach

How is the collection chosen?

Every frame in the collection is chosen for how it looks and how it wears.

Sourced for longevity

Hand finished acetate, stainless steel and lightweight titanium, chosen to outlast their prescription. Every pair is checked and adjusted by hand before it reaches you.

Fitted in person

Frames ordered during a visit are fitted in person, and online orders arrive ready to wear with adjustments available whenever we're in your area.

Lens quality

Hard coat and anti-reflective coating as standard on every lens. Premium anti-reflective, with enhanced scratch resistance, is $10.

Aftercare included

Free fitting adjustments and minor repairs whenever our mobile clinic is in your area. Contact us when you need one.

Frame Materials

Frame materials

Each suits a different wearer.

Acetate

Plant based plastic, layered and machined to expose tonal patterns through the depth of the frame. Warm against the skin, comfortable across long wear, easily adjusted by heat. The dominant material for everyday optical frames.

Hand finished Adjustable Wide range
Metal

Titanium and stainless steel, drawn into fine, precise profiles. Lightweight and corrosion resistant, with titanium adding hypoallergenic comfort for sensitive skin and heavy daily wear. Adjustable nose pads give an exact fit.

Titanium & steel Lightweight Adjustable pads
TR90

A lightweight, flexible thermoplastic that resists impact. The usual choice for children's frames and sports eyewear, where durability and comfort matter most. Springy, secure on the face and hard to break.

Impact resistant Ultra light Kids & sport

Construction

Construction and quality checks

Every frame passes a quality inspection before it leaves us. Hinges are tested, lens edges are dressed, and the final fitting is reviewed by the dispensing optometrist. If the prescription is not right, or you cannot adapt to the lenses in the first 30 days, our 30 day prescription warranty covers it, and fitting adjustments are always free.

12 month hassle free frame warranty

Manufacturing faults and defects covered. Accidental damage is not covered, though we can often repair it, or replace the frame at a cost.

30 day prescription warranty

If there is a prescription error, or you can't adapt to your new lenses within 30 days of receiving your glasses, contact us. We'll reassess, and replace the lenses where the prescription has changed.

Adjustments that come to you

Lens Technology

Lens options and coatings

Every lens dispensed by Sight on Site includes anti-reflective coating and full UV protection as standard. The options below are available where the prescription or the wearer benefits from them.

Anti-reflective coating

Reduces glare from headlights and screens, and keeps your eyes visible behind the lens.

Included as standard
Premium anti-reflective, scratch resistant

A tougher, easier to clean surface that stands up to daily handling. It doesn't make a lens scratch proof, but it extends usable life considerably. Add for $10 per pair.

Optional upgrade
UV protection

UV-A and UV-B protection as standard in all clear and tinted lenses. Especially important in Australian conditions.

Included as standard
Blue light filtering

Filters high energy visible light from screens. A creature comfort for long screen days and late evenings at a desk.

Optional upgrade
Photochromic / Transitions

Lenses that darken outdoors and clear indoors. Practical alternative to carrying a separate pair of sunglasses.

Optional upgrade
Polarised tints

For prescription sunglasses. Cuts surface glare from water, roads and snow.

Sunglass option
High-index substrates

Thinner, lighter lens material for stronger prescriptions. 1.61, 1.67 and 1.74 index available.

Optional upgrade
Progressive / Multifocal

Single lens for distance, intermediate and near. Modern free-form designs with wide reading zones.
